Trash Collection
Lately we’ve had problems with the trash collection. Our administrator has contacted town hall and will continue to do so if the problem continues. We don’t know yet why this is happening – if there are just more people during the summer throwing trash and they don’t intensify the collecting, or if it’s something else.
When we have situations like this, it would be much appreciated if as many of us as possible could throw our trash in another bin - maybe even outside Las Ramblas if we go by car. It’s not the trash collector’s job to clean up around the bins. It has to be made by us living here and it’s not a nice job. This also applies to cardboard boxes etc. Nobody, except ourselves, will take this away (see picture).
If you want to put more pressure on Town hall, feel free to send an e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. If you have pictures, please attach so they can see.
I also would like to remind you that if you have contacted town hall to collect larger items, please do not put them outside on the street until the night before the agreed pick up day. More information about this on the website.
If you have family or tenants staying in your house, please inform them.
We all need to help out so Altamira keeps looking nice and so we don’t have trash laying around in our area.

Presentation of the new president Lena Wallin
My name is Lena Wallin and I’m the new president in Altamira. I’m a former Swedish teacher who now live in Altamira with my husband, many months of the year, but not full time. Besides being a teacher, I’m used to this type of committee work from Sweden where we live, but also professionally from the teacher’s union local, regional and national
I look forward to working with the committee the coming year. We are a good team with a lot of combined knowledge.
Best regards
Lena Wallin
